Summary

If you have downloaded the 9.13P1 build 9.13P1-9816-upgrade.iso/9.13P1-9816.ova between March 4th 2024 to March 11th 2024 and not deployed/upgraded it yet and if you are having NVMe provisioned datastores in your environment, it is strongly recommended not to upgrade to this build.
Instead download and replace with the newly available 9.13P1 build 9.13P1-9828-upgrade.iso/9.13P1-9828.ova from the NetApp Support site.

Issue Description

NetApp has identified a critical bug with respect to VM creation failure on NVMe provisioned datastores in the 9.13P1-9816 build and hence requesting customers who have downloaded the 9.13P1 build 9.13P1-9816-upgrade.iso/9.13P1-9816.ova after March 4th and between March 11th 2024, not to deploy or upgrade to the same.
Even if the customer is not using NVMe provisioned datastores, and if they have not deployed/upgraded to this 9.13P1-9816 build, NetApp recommends to download the latest newly available build 9.13P1-9828-upgrade.iso/9.13P1-9828.ova from the NetApp Support site and use the same.

Symptom

VM Creation workflow on a NVMe provisioned datastores fails with error "Cannot complete file creation operation, Operation failed" if the customer uses the build image 9.13P1-9816-upgrade.iso/9.13P1-9816.ova downloaded after March 4th 2024 and before March 12th 2024.

Solution

Download the latest newly available build 9.13P1-9828-upgrade.iso/9.13P1-9828.ova from the NetApp Support site and deploy the same instead of the older previous build.
